Natalie Portman Welcomed Baby No. 3 — Here's What She Said About This Pregnancy

Natalie Portman gave birth to her third child last month. She says the pregnancy, one she suspected might be her last, brought a sense of gratitude unlike anything she'd experienced before.

Natalie Portman is a mother of three.

The actress, 45, welcomed her third baby in Paris last month, her first with partner Tanguy Destable. She already shares two children, son Aleph, 15, and daughter Amalia, 9, with ex-husband Benjamin Millepied.

Portman first revealed her pregnancy to Harper's Bazaar back in April and spoke about the deep gratitude she felt. As the daughter of a fertility expert, she knew of the pains and disappointment that come with trying to conceive a child. “And so I know how lucky it is,” she said of her pregnancy. “I’m very aware, and I’m very grateful. I have deep appreciation and gratitude.”

Portman also opened up about how different this pregnancy was to her first two. "There is a gratitude that when you're young, you don't necessarily grasp," she explained. Knowing herself better now, and thinking this would probably be her last pregnancy, she said she wanted to cherish every moment.

Portman kept active throughout, turning to swimming and gyrotonics to stay strong, all while spending as much time as possible with her older kids.

She also appreciated the slower pace of living in Paris, which allowed her to take walks through the city’s parks and visit galleries when she wasn't working. She also joked that she gets an extra week to be pregnant since the French consider a full-term pregnancy to be 41 weeks instead of 40.
