The music legend hasn't performed since Saturday's show in Missouri, and this marks the second time health concerns have derailed his tour with Earth, Wind & Fire this year.

Earlier this week, Richie checked himself in as a precaution after performing his show on Saturday evening, August 29. According to People, the 77-year-old star is now back home in Los Angeles and "doing great."

Richie was taken to the intensive care unit (ICU), where he underwent cardiac testing, per TMZ. Doctors reportedly traced the cause of his illness to mild dehydration. He was expected to fly home on Wednesday, September 2.

The singer appeared to struggle through the concert and needed help from his team during Saturday's show. At one point, he even requested a chair while performing his final song, "All Night Long."

Social media clips show a crew member bringing out the chair, which Richie remained seated in for the rest of the performance.

In another video from the night, Richie is seen drinking electrolytes onstage and saying, "I'm telling you, this stuff is nasty — but it works. That's all you gotta remember — just drink your electrolytes and you too can be like me."

The "Truly" singer is currently on the road with Earth, Wind & Fire for the Sing a Song All Night Long tour. Two months earlier, during the tour's opening show in June, Richie also cut a performance short after falling ill onstage.

At the time, the Minnesota Star Tribune reported that he told the crowd he was feeling dizzy and joked that he had never performed "Dancing on the Ceiling" while seated. "When you're feeling dizzy, sit your ass down," he joked.

Richie later postponed two shows to "rest and return to full health," before returning to the stage on June 30. His next show following this latest hospital stint is scheduled for September 26 in San Francisco.
