Adéla Names Song After Nicole Kidman — and the Actress Says She's a Fan

The Slovak pop singer's upcoming record, "Prima," out September 4, includes a track titled "Nicole Kidman," and the actress herself confirmed she's aware of the tribute, and the artist behind it.

Nicole Kidman confirmed she's a fan of Slovak pop singer Adéla during an interaction with a fan at the London premiere of "Practical Magic 2" on Wednesday.

When a fan asked if Kidman knew who Adéla was, the actress initially hesitated. But when the fan mentioned Adéla's upcoming song titled "Nicole Kidman," realization hit.

"Oh, yes! She is! I do know!" Kidman said. She added that she plans to attend Adéla's show in Nashville on September 21, part of the singer's Red Bottoms Tour.

Adéla, 22, first made waves during the 2023 reality competition series "Dream Academy," the same show that led to the formation of K-pop group Katseye. She is set to release her debut album, "Prima," on September 4 on Capitol Records, and one track is named after Kidman.

The album's lead single, "Ain't in LA," reached No. 61 on the Billboard Hot 100 in July, marking the first time she made it to the chart. The song was inspired by old photographs of Adéla's mother posing in front of a wall covered in pop culture posters that her grandfather had smuggled in from Germany.

Following the interaction with Kidman, the actress launched a TikTok account, using "Ain't in LA" as the soundtrack for her first post.

In a statement about the album, Adéla said she wanted it to reflect her age. “I tried to express both sides. I mixed the hard with the soft, the vulnerable with the swag of it all, the muscular beats with the feminine energy,” she explained.

Before “Prima,” Adéla released two singles this year, "KGB" and "Red Bottoms," both of which featured high-profile collaborators, including producer Dylan Brady of 100 Gecs.
