According to documents obtained by TMZ, the couple welcomed a baby girl on June 9 at 11:19 p.m. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and they named her Rose Bean Polansky. OB-GYN to the stars, Dr. Robert Katz, delivered the baby, who was born via surrogate.

Though the couple or their reps have yet to confirm this, sources have shared insight into where the name “Rose Bean” comes from. An insider told People the name Rose is in reference to Gaga’s song, "La Vie En Rose," from her 2018 film "A Star Is Born." Gaga also has a large tattoo of a rose along her spine, with the phrase "la vie en rose" stylishly written beside it.

As for the baby’s second name, sources suspect a connection to activist Carl Bean, who inspired Gaga’s hit song “Born This Way.”

News that Gaga welcomed a child was confirmed by People on September 11, with a source saying Gaga sounded "very happy." They also claimed Gaga had always dreamed of becoming a mom and that it was very important to her.

This was a sentiment Gaga also shared in a 2019 YouTube video with NikkieTutorials when asked about her 10-year plan. Apart from wanting to do more movies, she said, “I want to have babies.”

After her tour ended in April, Gaga was reportedly ready to slow down and spend some time away from the spotlight to focus on parenting. "She doesn't want to miss any of it," a source for People said, adding that the couple has been figuring out parenthood together.

In February 2025, Gaga shared insight into her thoughts about family and how she wants to raise her children in a cover story for Elle. She compared a family to the roots of a tree and how they each grow differently, some mangled, some full of water, and some thirsty. “Family is what makes you who you are, and it also defines your need for change,” she said.

She also mentioned something she and Polansky agreed about when it comes to shaping their children: “allowing them to be their own people.” As she put it, “I just kind of want to let my kids find out who they are.”

Gaga and Polansky have been together since late 2020, after they were first photographed together at a New Year's Eve party in Las Vegas. The two publicly confirmed their relationship shortly after that year's Super Bowl.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the couple quarantined together at Gaga’s Malibu home. They got engaged in July 2024, the same month Gaga introduced Polansky as her fiancé while speaking with French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal during the Paris Olympics.

Polansky, an entrepreneur and Harvard graduate, also co-produced Gaga's 2025 album "Mayhem" and co-wrote several songs in it.
