Billy Baldwin Says He Refused to Kiss Sharon Stone on Camera in 'Sliver,' Recalls Tense Set

Billy Baldwin says tension with costar Sharon Stone on the set of 1993's 'Sliver' has left him unwilling to work with her again, more than three decades later.

More than 30 years after sharing the screen with Sharon Stone in the 1993 erotic thriller, “Sliver,” Billy Baldwin says he'll "never, ever work with" the actress again.

Speaking on the "Lisa Guerrero Unleashed" podcast, Baldwin recalled initially getting along with Stone during the first few weeks of filming until she suddenly turned cold. “She wouldn't say 'hello' or 'goodbye' to me for the next three months," he said.

The tension came to a brimming point as they neared the movie's final love scene. By then, Baldwin said he was no longer comfortable filming the kiss the script called for, so he requested a meeting with producers. In the end, Baldwin agreed to do the scene but on one condition, telling the producers, ”Just please don't make me kiss her. I can't kiss her."

Baldwin recalled even demonstrating a way to work around not kissing, grabbing director Philip Noyce and repositioning him to show producer Robert Evans the angle he had in mind. Evans reportedly loved the idea on the spot.

Back in 2021, Stone shared a different version of events. In her memoir, “The Beauty of Living Twice,” she said Evans called her into his office suggesting she and Baldwin sleep together to improve their onscreen chemistry.

Baldwin suspects his latest revelations, which he admits he’s “never told anyone before,” could go viral. Still, he said he’d be open to reconciling with Stone, adding he'd welcome the chance to "shake her hand" or "give her a hug" if their paths crossed again.
